The Green Party peers are supporting the Lib Dems’ Fatal Motion on Monday 29th January. The motion would stop this appalling Bill from becoming law by delaying it for more than a year, but we need the Labour Peers’ support to make it happen.
If we lose the Fatal Motion on Monday then after that the Lords will put amendments to the Bill, in an attempt to improve it and ensure that it doesn’t break international law.
MPs will then vote on whether to accept those amendments and the Bill will go back and forth between MPs and Lords until they reach agreement. If the Fatal Motion fails then Jenny and Natalie will be calling on the House of Lords to insist on their amendments and not surrender to the out of control Conservative MPs clinging on to their last months of power. If Labour and Lib Dem Lords follow suit, and both Houses can’t agree, then this could even block the Bill until the General Election.

Help our parliamentarians defend our human rights!
The Rwanda Bill threatens the human rights of all of us, not just those of refugees and asylum-seekers.
