Topical Oral Questions (TOQs) and Questions for Short Debate (QSDs)

Topical Oral Question slots are reserved for questions which are topical (have been in the news in the past 3 days), the questions are chosen by ballot.

Questions for Short Debate happen one Thursday each month. Short debates are an opportunity for members to draw the government’s attention to concerns and hold it to account. They last for about 60 minutes and a minister or spokesperson responds on behalf of the government at the end.
