The new Clean Air Act
“The Green Party supports the creation of a new Clean Air Act that
· recognises Clean air as a human right
· deals with indoor as well as outdoor air pollution
· takes a zero emissions approach that deals with both air pollution and the climate crisis
· gives Metro Mayors and local authorities the powers to go with their responsibilities
· sets standards according to latest advice from the World Health Organisation
· establishes a Citizens’ Commission for Clean Air (CCCA) which would review annually the Secretary of State’s compliance with the act and support victims take forward any legal actions.”
